Engr. Abubakar Sadiku Ohere, FNSE, is a Nigerian statesman and engineer from the Okene area of Kogi State.

He was schooled at St. Andrew's School, Okene, and Lennon Memorial College, Ageva, before training as an engineer — an Ordinary National Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering at Kwara State Polytechnic, a Higher National Diploma at the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, and a master's in Mining Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Akure.

Ohere joined the Federal Civil Service in 1996. Over roughly twenty years he rose from field engineer to management within the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development — a grounding in diligence and delivery that still shapes how he approaches public life.

A call to public service in 2016 opened a new chapter: Special Adviser and then Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Commissioner for Works and Housing, and — from June 2023 — Senator for Kogi Central in the 10th Senate, where he chaired the Committee on Local Content.
